When Bill Smith decided to take his award-wining amateur wines to the next level, his wife, Tracy, agreed to join him in a commercial winery. The Smith’s purchased Ridgewood Farmstead 2039 Philadelphia Ave, Birdsboro (outside of Reading) in 2013, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places for the richness and importance of the architectural features. The oldest section of the house dates to the early 1700’s and the main house was built in 1811 and is part of the Underground Railroad due to it’s proximity to Reading. We are proud to be the only winery producing wine in a Nationally Registered Site, right here in Berks County Pa. In 2019, Ridgewood Winery grew to it’s second location at Ridgewood Winery on Daffodil Hill Farm 215 Township Line Road, Bechtelsville (near Boyertown). The farmhouse was built in 1822 with a barn, carriage house along with 26 acres of property. Check us out to see what we are all about. Bill and Tracy Smith
